(CBS) Jesunya Jerusalemalakutu Ankunytja (Jesus Goes to Jerusalem) Pitjantjatjara
With beautiful illustrations by Kees de Kort, this book uses a translation in Pitjantjatjara to tell the story of the time Joseph, Mary and Jesus went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. After the celebrations had finished, they began the journey home, expecting Jesus to be with their party. However, a day later, they realised Jesus was not with them. He was missing.
Joseph and Mary frantically made their way back to Jerusalem, when they found Jesus three days later. He was in the temple, sitting with the teacher, listening to them and asking questions. When Mary asked why he stayed behind, Jesus told her that he had to be in his Father’s house. Mary and Joseph didn’t understand what Jesus meant, but made their way back home with an obedient Jesus. This story showed both his early wisdom and his special relationship with God.
