Explore Indigenous Language Scripture Resources
We are committed to making the Bible accessible to all Australians, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. These printed resources support Indigenous communities to engage with God’s word in their heart language.
Our Bible Mission Work in Australia
Across Australia, many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are still waiting to receive the Bible in their own language. With only one complete Indigenous language Bible currently available — the Kriol Bible — each published resource plays an important role.
Bible Society Australia publishes Indigenous language Bibles as soon as translations are complete, helping to reinforce Christian foundations and support ministry in community settings. These resources are used by families, churches, hospital chaplains, community workers, local ministers and Sunday school leaders to help people engage with Scripture in meaningful ways.
Bible Society’s Remote and Indigenous Ministry aims to see Indigenous people come into a relationship with God through his word, and to support committed, growing Bible‑focused lives.
